Even if you are suffering from one of these conditions you are likely to suffer from the other also. Excess weight also negatively impacts the pancreas that produces insulin. Sugar levels in the blood are not controlled because sufficient amount of the insulin is not produced by the body owing to obesity. This increases the sugar level further leading to diabetes among obese people. A person suffering from obesity may also suffer from high blood pressure. The excess fat stored in the body can stress the arteries and disturb the blood circulation of the body. When this happens, the person may not get adequate blood supply. This can lead to stroke or heart failure. Mental health can also be disturbed by obesity as people who are obese can suffer from low self esteem. Mood altering medicines and antidepressants used for the treatment of anxiety, depression and stress can also lead to obesity. Increased exercise and energy-limited diet are generally prescribed to treat obesity. Bariatric surgical treatments can be undergone by those who face the condition of morbid obesity. Those who suffer from serious health problems can undergo gastric reduction surgery. Drastic weight loss can be experienced by people in the initial two months following gastric bypass surgery. Obesity and depression is largely prevalent in middle aged women also. Obese women are more likely to develop depression. This is owing to low self esteem. Such women can lose the will to lose weight because they are ignorant about how they can lose weight. In such cases, women must have a firm will to lose weight. Obesity and depression can also have a negative impact on health as it reduces physical endurance and limits the body movement.
